Hyundai EON

The newly launched Entry level hatch back car from Hyundai Called the EON. In a market where every car maker is trying hard to target the small segment,  Hyundai sure has planned it well .

The Hyundai eon at a first look does not look  like a low end car. If you look at the design , it’s really cool. the exteriors are in par with an high-end car. when you have a first  look at it you will fall in love for sure.

The  base version of eon starts with  Rs. 2.6 lakhs ( ex showroom  ) with  less features.  The high end variant which is the EON sportz  costs Rs. 4 lakhs ( ex showroom  ) . It includes remote lock, full music player with usb and aux ports, driver seat air bag , adjustable steering,  front power windows and more ….

Comes with  800 cc engine which is good . Hyundai claims 21 km per litre on test conditions , but in our test we got 15 km per litre which is good.

since the car is very very compact it was very easy to maneuver in chennai traffic.

Over all, Hyundai eon is a sure winner in it’s range when you compare it with other cars such as the Alto, K 10 , etc.

Disadvantages   , it could have had a back-wiper and ABS , which would be very useful.

If you are considering buying a  car within a good budget  sure this must be your choice.

I used to drive a Maruti 800 to work, wich was a good (and basic) car. Now I own a Hyundai Eon 2013. Despite both cars has 800cc engines, the differences between one and another is huge, in terms of driving experience and performance. Both are 800cc but Maruti 800 is 40hp and Eon is 56hp. I am a happy owner of the Magna Plus version in same color 🙂

  11. Techshan says:

kinda depends on how steep it is , but you cannot expect more as its just a 800cc engine. but if you see the back can comfortably house 2 people , 3 at the back will be kinda cramped but . its a 5 seater though.

Nice review . Looks like Hyundai Eon will be a stiff competitor in the already overcrowded hatchback market in India .

EON is a ‘value for money’ car considering the style, features and price.
